Expert Advisors
1. What does EA stand for, and why would I want one?
EA means Expert Advisor. It is a program that can watch the market and place or manage trades according to set rules. You might use one if you want those rules followed automatically, but you still need to watch your account and manage your risk.
2. What is the difference between an EA and an indicator?
An indicator shows information on a chart to help you decide what to do. An EA can act on programmed rules and, when you allow it, place or manage trades for you.
3. How many EAs can I have on my chart at one time?
In MetaTrader 4, one EA can be attached to each chart. You can open separate charts for other EAs, as long as your setup and licenses allow them.
4. Can I turn one EA off and leave another on?
Yes. Turn off or remove the EA on its own chart and leave the other chart alone. The main AutoTrading button turns off trading for all EAs in that MetaTrader terminal. If your EAs run on a VPS, make the change there.
5. What happens if I trade manually while an EA is active?
You can place a manual trade, but it shares the same account balance and risk with the EA. Depending on that EA’s settings, your manual trade may also count toward its trade limits. Do not assume the EA will manage a trade you placed yourself.
6. What is a VPS, and why would I use one?
A VPS is a computer you rent that stays on and connected to the internet. It can keep MetaTrader and your EA running when your own computer is off. It does not prevent power, internet, broker, or software problems altogether.
7. Do I need a separate VPS for each EA?
No. One VPS can run several EAs on separate charts if it has enough capacity and each EA is set up and licensed correctly.
8. Is it best to have a chart for each EA subscription?
Yes. Since MetaTrader 4 allows one EA per chart, give each EA its own chart. Follow that EA’s setup instructions: some CPC EAs watch several markets from one chart.
9. Why does my EA sometimes skip a trade?
It may not have seen a setup that meets its rules. It may also be outside its trading hours, at a trade limit, or unable to trade because of its license, settings, connection, broker conditions, or available funds. A day without a trade does not by itself mean the EA is broken.
10. Will my broker charge more if I use a VPS?
Using a VPS does not by itself raise your broker’s trading fees. VPS rental is a separate cost. Your broker’s usual spreads, commissions, and other charges still apply.
11. How easy is it to turn an EA off and back on?
You can turn off trading for that EA on its chart or remove it, then turn it back on or attach it again later. Check any open trades first: turning the EA off may stop it from adjusting their stops.
12. Can an EA make my trading profitable?
It may help you follow a strategy consistently, but it cannot promise a profit. It can lose money, including during conditions its past tests handled well.
13. How do I know which EA is right for me?
Start with the markets and times you want to trade and the losses you can afford. Compare each EA’s rules and risks, then try it on a demo account before using real money. CPC offers one 10-day free trial per customer on an available EA.
14. Can I switch to another EA in the middle of my subscription?
Your subscription covers the EA you purchased; switching is not automatic. Contact CPC to ask what options are available before changing products.
15. If I cancel early, will I get back the unused part of my payment?
No. After digital access has been provided, CPC’s policy does not refund the unused part of a paid subscription. You can cancel future renewals, and access generally continues through the end of the term you paid for. Read the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
16. Does my chart need to be set up for an EA to work?
Yes. MetaTrader must be running, the EA must be attached to a chart, its license and trading permissions must be active, and its required settings must be correct. Follow the instructions for your specific EA; some CPC EAs monitor markets other than the chart they are attached to.
17. How long before a manual trade should I turn off my EA?
There is no set number of minutes. Turn it off before placing your manual trade and before the EA’s next possible entry. If it runs on a VPS, turn it off there, and check whether it is already managing an open trade.
18. Will manual trades reduce the number of trades my EA can take that day?
They can. If the EA is set to count manual trades toward its daily limit, each manual trade leaves fewer available for the EA. Even when they are not counted, manual trades still use money and add risk to the same account.
19. What is the success rate of the EAs?
There is no single success rate for all CPC EAs, and no win rate guarantees future results. For a particular EA, ask CPC for its documented results, the dates tested, the number of trades, and the size of losses as well as wins.
20. Can EA subscriptions be shared or transferred?
No. CPC licenses are for the purchaser and cannot be shared or transferred. The number of permitted installations depends on the plan purchased. Read the Terms & Conditions.
